Ellsbury could be done for the season




Jacoby Ellsbury is scheduled to return to Boston today and could be shut down for the season after his exam in Los Angeles with Dr. Lewis Yo***** revealed a possible rib fracture, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

 Trade Rumors: Twins very close to acquiring Cabrera

Twins sfgate is reporting
Orlando Cabrera is very likely to be a member of the Minnesota Twins in the next hour or two. An A's source tells me that a deal is "very close." Despite a report on ESPN in the past 20 minutes, there is no need for any OK from the commissioner's office. Top Twins prospect Danny Valencia is not a part of the deal, I'm told.



Also, in other A's news, Justin Duchscherer's rehab start tonight at Triple-A Sacramento has been scrapped. No reason has been stated, but his return from elbow surgery has twice been interrupted by back trouble.
