Ellsbury could be done for the season




Jacoby Ellsbury is scheduled to return to Boston today and could be shut down for the season after his exam in Los Angeles with Dr. Lewis Yo***** revealed a possible rib fracture, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

 Braves catcher Ross not available

Braves The ACJ is reporting There was a rumor floating that the Atlanta Braves were shopping veteran backup catcher David Ross, but the team is going way out of its way to tell folks that there is no truth to it, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.


"I can tell you, we wouldn't even think about trading him," manager Bobby Cox told the paper. "That's completely made up. It doesn't make any sense."

The rumor circulating was that Ross was available for another younger backup catcher in return.

Ross hit .273 with seven homers in 128 at-bats last season as backup to starting catcher Brian McCann.
