Ellsbury could be done for the season




Jacoby Ellsbury is scheduled to return to Boston today and could be shut down for the season after his exam in Los Angeles with Dr. Lewis Yo***** revealed a possible rib fracture, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

 Cliff Lee back in mid-May?

Mariners The Seattle Times is reporting The Seattle Mariners' injured ace Cliff Lee(notes) threw 10 pitches from atop a mound yesterday and the team was apparently extremely happy with the results, according to the Seattle Times.




A plan has apparently been hatched to have Lee throw 25 pitches in the bullpen tomorrow and progress from there with a 40-pitch effort and the hope of having him throw a simulated game on April 14.

Who knew an abdominal strain could wreak so much havoc? M's manager Don Wakamatsu wants to have Lee throwing 70 or 80 pitches in minor-league games before bringing him back to the bigs.
