 | Setup job is not Joba's just yet |
The Ny Post is reporting "Joba Chamberlain was impressive in striking out Adrian Beltre and J.D. Drew to kill an eighth-inning Red Sox threat Tuesday night.
However, before Joe Girardi anoints Chamberlain as the "eighth-inning guy" in front of Mariano Rivera, the Yankees want to see Chamberlain be effective more than once. In other words, Chamberlain has to earn the role Phil Hughes filled so well in the second half of last season and one a lot of people assumed Chamberlain would be automatically assigned to when he lost out to Hughes for the No. 5 starter's spot in spring training.
